Meet our governors

What are our Governors role within the school?

At our school, the Governing Body plays a vital role in ensuring that every child receives the best possible education. School governors are volunteers who bring a wide range of skills, experience, and perspectives to help guide the strategic direction of the school. They work closely with the Headteacher and staff to support the school’s vision, monitor performance, and ensure that resources are used effectively.

Governors do not manage the day‑to‑day running of the school—that is the responsibility of the Headteacher. Instead, they focus on the bigger picture: setting priorities, agreeing policies, and making sure the school is meeting statutory responsibilities. They also act as “critical friends,” offering both support and challenge to help the school continually improve.

Through regular meetings, visits, and discussions, governors help ensure that decisions are made in the best interests of children, families, and the wider school community. Their commitment and dedication make an important contribution to the success and wellbeing of our school.
